Allen Matthew Stovall:
For over thirty years I have applied my art/design skills in a wide array of professional settings, working on hundreds of various projects. For over fifteen of those years I worked as a special effects animator and assistant animator (see demo reel & filmography below). My first major full-time job involved designing, painting, and building window displays, including life-sized figures, for a large music store. I have also designed logos, graphics, posters, and other promotional material; drew a series of 200 black & white cartoons for a specialty print shop; designed and painted signs; and since the year 2000 I have been designing, creating, & maintaining websites. In the realm of video I have produced event, wedding, & biographical videos, and have edited more than 75 professional demo reels for animation artists.
 
During the late 1980s I spent seven months as a volunteer worker at the Ministry of Housing in Nicaragua, Central America. The project, a fully-illustrated basic construction manual, was intented to help alleviate a rural housing shortage caused by the Contra invasion which had been devastating the country. My most delightfully memorable and challenging project involved teaching first grade at a small Waldorf school, with a class of ten lively and creative children. The curriculum integrates daily artistic activities, including drawing & painting, sculpting, singing, flute playing, and storytelling. Chronic illness finally prompted me to reconsider teaching, and after only one (by all accounts, successful) year, I decided to concentrate on work which could be produced at my home studio/office.
 
Website creation is my mainstay, as well as illustration & graphic design, and an occasional video editing project. I live in Los Angeles with my wife Jennifer; we enjoy exploring the rich variety of natural beauty throughout Southern California.
